About Me

Education

My design education has taken me through two very different learning environments. I completed my NCEA Level 5 and Level 6 diplomas at Yoobee Colleges in Wellington, and I am now completing my Bachelor of Communication Design at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Moving between these environments has challenged me to adapt to different ways of thinking, working and designing. It has also helped me become more aware of designing for a wider range of people, considering different perspectives, needs and experiences rather than designing with only myself in mind.

Life

I’ve always been someone who finds excitement in the little things, the people I meet, the places I go, the things I notice and the stories that exist around me. I’m naturally curious, social and always looking for something new to learn, which is a big part of what drew me to design in the first place. For me, design is a way of interpreting those everyday experiences and turning them into something people can connect with. I love bringing colour, expression, storytelling and a little bit of myself into what I create, while still designing with care for the people who will experience it. I want the work I create to feel the same way, thoughtful, expressive, human and full of life.

Human

I care about how design makes people feel, interact and connect with something.

Expressive

Drawn to strong visual identities, storytelling and designs with personality.

Intentional

I like having a reason behind my design decisions rather than designing purely for aesthetics.

Responsible

Interested in design that considers its wider impact, particularly around sustainability, accessibility and everyday behaviour.

Experimental

Willing to step outside my usual aesthetic and explore unfamiliar mediums and approaches.

Curious

Always questioning, researching and looking for a better way to approach a problem.
